Overview of the role

To work within our busy finishing team ensuring that all of our orders are finished to a high standard, within agreed deadlines so that orders are ready for the despatch on time.

Main duties

  • Check job bag instructions and ensure accuracy of specifications to produce an accurate and quality end product.
  • Ensure adequate and efficient supply of materials are ready to minimise machine downtime
  • Operating various print finishing machines and maintain an efficient production workflow
  • Ensure all finishing jobs are packed, labelled and palletised correctly prior to going to despatch department
  • Carry out scheduled cleaning and maintenance of machines
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and implement safe working practices 

Skills Required

  • Ideally previous experience with both Litho and Digital finishing print machines including but not limited to Guillotines/ Folders/ Booklet makers & Muller martini
  • Pick and pack experience 

Experience required

  • Minimum 2yrs experience Print Finishing

Job description

Overview of the role purpose and objectives:

We are looking to enhance our team here at Stirland Paterson. The role entails working within our Finishing Department, you will hand finish and pack printed products, label them ensuring that a quality end product is presented to our dispatch department, within the time-frames expected.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

To take printed work and perform various finishing operations to include cut to size, laminate, glue, hand finish and pack jobs ready for delivery.

To labour at the end of finishing machinery and assist with warehousing duties as and when required.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent verbal (English speaking) skills
  • Previous 2 years experience within a Print Finishing/warehouse packing role
  • Methodical
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • To be able to meet set productivity output rates

Hours: Minimum 37.5hrs per week.

You must be eligible to work in the UK, documentation will be checked during the interview process.

Job Description and Responsibilities

To transport and deliver work in progress to sub-contractors or deliver finished products to customers.

  • Ensure the efficient delivery of goods to sub-contractors and collection of goods from suppliers.
  • As an ambassador of the company perform delivery duties to customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure that you abide by the related company vehicle policies at all times.
  • When necessary ensure that delivery documentation is raised for each delivery.
  • Carry out maintenance checks of vehicles as outlined in the use of company vehicles policy, record findings and pass on to General Manager.
  • Carry out housekeeping and cleanliness activities of vehicles.
  • Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.
  • As part of the production team perform any related and reasonable duties required to ensure jobs are produced correctly and on time.

Minimum 2yrs previous experience in similar role

Full clean UK driving license and preferably holds a current FLT license.
